Forged for Battle

Rebel Sport wanted to engage with cricket fans across Australia, and came to us with a plan to create a campaign to span cinema, TV, internet, digital signage, radio, POS, EDMs plus an entire "Cricket Edition" catalogue. The creative concept drew a parallel between the armour of the modern-day cricketer and that of a medieval knight. We ran three studio setups simultaneously — players in cricket gear and armour against bluescreen, a stills photography studio, and interview setups for social content. Steve Smith was overseas at the time, so we had to enlist a company in the states to film in a replicated environment. We also filmed a blacksmith in Sydney's outer suburbs, and attended Kookaburra's bat manufacturing facility in Victoria.
